Eric J. DeLaura, DO
Dr. Eric J. DeLaura is the creator and medical director of Image Guided Surgery & Aesthetics. He is a fellowship trained Vascular & Interventional Radiologist who specializes in performing minimally invasive procedures under image guidance from within arteries and veins. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
His training began locally with an internship at Union Hospital followed by a radiology residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. DeLaura follows a very holistic and well-rounded philosophy on patient care which he incorporates into the treatment plan of all his patients. His expertise in performing very intricate and detailed procedures in a minimally invasive manner also allows for decreased overall stress on his patients' bodies and a significantly more rapid recovery than traditional operative surgery.
Prior to Image Guided Surgery & Aesthetics, Dr. DeLaura served as Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Staten Island University Hospital. He is highly experienced in all aspects of endovascular surgery including peripheral arterial disease, dialysis access management, uterine fibroid embolization, and varicose vein treatment. He has performed thousands of procedures, trialed several new cutting-edge devices, and trained numerous radiology residents, medical students, and radiology technologists. He holds a faculty position as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Medical College.
It was the busy surroundings and impersonal nature of the hospital setting that prompted Dr. DeLaura to establish a quieter and more comfortable, spa-like environment for his patients where the focus is on wellness and personal attention.
